BIOREND® is a natural product, ideal for agricultural crops and urban green.

It acts as a biostimulant activating the immune system and the plants’ defence mechanisms.

It promotes strong growth and vigour, enhancing roots, foliage and flowering.

It increases plant resistance to disease and plant tolerance to difficult climate conditions, such as frost and drought.

It may be used on all plants interior or exterior, in balconies or gardens but also on vegetable crops, such as tomatoes and peppers.

BIOREND

Biorend® contains chitosan, a natural substance which is a a polymer of chitin. Chitosan is completely safe for people, pets, bees, and the environment in general. It is biodegradable and has been approved by the European Union for use in organic farming.

THE CHEMICAL FORMULA OF CHITOSAN

Insects, same as all arthropods, are covered by a chitin shell. Chitin is also found in the cell walls of fungi. When chitosan (Biorend®) comes into contact with plant cells, the plant believes it is being attacked by enemies (insects and fungi) and activates a series of defence mechanisms. These mechanisms make the plant produce increased amounts of protective and growth substances, such as phytoalexins, phenols, flavonoids, peroxidase, and other defensive metabolites. The result is vigorous root and foliage growth and abundant flowering. The rich plant root growth generated by Biorend®, facilitates and accelerates the uptake of water and nutrients. At the same time, since chitosan is toxic to a number of soil pathogens, such as phytophthora, pythium, fusarium, etc., it significantly sanitises the root environment.

Biorend® is imported, packaged and distributed in Greece and the Balkans exclusively by Bio-insecta. Bio-insecta is a Greek company, which, since 2004, designs and implements biological Plant Protection programs, in agricultural crops, peri-urban and urban green.

Bio-insecta operates the first insect farm in Greece (beneficial insect production unit) in Halkidiki. It produces beneficial insects, such as ladybugs, which are applied (released) to vegetable and flower crops, greenhouse and open field, fruit trees, vines as well as urban green and lawns. Beneficial insects can deal with known plant enemies such as lice (aphids), thrips, woolly whitefly, tetranychus (spider mites), marchalina hellenica, caterpillars, etc.

Bio-insecta has branches in Thessaloniki and Crete. The company has a strong export orientation towards the Balkans and the EU. Bio-insecta also maintains a Research and Development department, participating in European programs and collaborating with organizations, institutes and educational establishments.

Use of

BIOREND

Plants are living organisms and they require proper care on a constant basis. Regular irrigation, fertilization, pruning and pest control are a prerequisite for strong and healthy plants.

Biorend® is completely harmless to humans, pets, bees, beneficial organisms and the environment in general.

Dissolve Biorend® in water, at a ratio of 3 cubic centimetres (ml, cc) of Biorend® per litre of water.

pour 2 tablespoons of Biorend® into a 10-litre bucket or watering pot

pour 1 tablespoon of Biorend® into a 5-litre bucket or watering pot

pour 1 teaspoon of Biorend® into a 1.5-litre bottle

Mix well.

Use the solution to water or spray your plants.

For best results use Biorend®:

Spring / Summer

Every 10 or 15 days (2 or 3 times a month)

Autumn / Winter

Every 20 or 30 days

With Biorend® solution you can:

either water the plants

(instead of irrigating with water)

or spray them

(we do not spray in strong sunlight or in extreme temperatures, because the water drops can cause leaf burn)

In any case, make sure that the plants are watered or sprayed thoroughly.

Chitosan which is contained in Biorend® is a natural product, which in an other formulation is available for human consumption as a dietary supplement for weight control.

Biorend® does not create spots or stains and is easily washed off with water.

During winter, do not apply Biorend® to deciduous (leaf shedding) plants. The plants are dormant and cannot activate their biochemical mechanisms (there is no problem for the plants – you are just consuming the product unnecessarily).

In cases of plants where special care is required, such as very young plants, bonsai, orchids, transplants, etc., it is recommended to apply both methods (watering and spraying), so that both the root and the aerial parts are supported.

Biorend® can be used for 2 years after opening the packet.

It is not affected by low temperatures during winter, but in summer especially high temperatures and direct exposure of the container to the sun should be avoided.

Store in a cool place, away from children and animals.

All materials used are recyclable. Please recycle them.

If, from spring to autumn there are 15 applications of Biorend® then in each application (either irrigation or spraying) use:

10 litres of water, then you will need 150 litres of solution > 1 Biorend® bottle of ½ litre

20 litres of water, then you will need 300 litres of solution > 1 Biorend® bottle of 1 litre

To which plants can you apply Biorend®?

To all. Το Biorend® activates biochemical mechanisms that are common to all plants, whether ornamental or vegetable.

When and how do the results appear?

The action of Biorend® is already visible after the first applications. The plants grow rich foliage with vivid colour, more flowers, longer stems, etc. You may, as an experiment, not apply Biorend®. The differences will be obvious.

When can I start using Biorend®? Can I skip one or more applications?

You can start using Biorend® at any time, at whatever stage of plant growth.

It doesn't matter if we skip a dose or if the repetitions become more sparse; it is just that biostimulation and other favourable effects on the plants will follow the rate of the applications.

Can I change the dosage or frequency of use?

The recommended dosage and frequency of application ensure optimum results. Excessive dosages or too frequent applications do not produce better results - you are just consuming the product unnecessarily.

Does it replace or replenish fertilizer?

Το Biorend® does not provide food for the plants, so it does not replace the fertilizer. The higher metabolic rate brought about by Biorend® results in better absorption of nutrients. A balanced nutrition is necessary for the proper growth of the plant.

Can it harm plants?

Biorend® is not phytotoxic and cannot harm plants.

Does Biorend® contain beneficial organisms?

No, it only contains chitosan, a natural substance that causes the activation of resistance mechanisms in plants.

Can it be used together with other preparations, e.g. fertilizers or beneficial organisms?

Biorend® can be used together with various water-soluble chemical preparations such as fertilizers, without there being a negative effect on the action of either the chemicals or Biorend®.

Chitosan is compatible with beneficial insects and pollinators, and completely safe for them. Also, chitosan acts as a growth substrate for chitinolytic organisms, which eventually favour the growth of other beneficial micro-organisms, such as symbiotic mycorrhiza, bacilli, entomopathogenic fungi, etc.
